An M.J. Bale icon in the making, the Newcomb Cable Polo is knitted from a luxe blend of Italian-spun linen and wool that has been knitted in a mid-weight cable stitch. The polo features ribbed trims at the neck, hem and sleeve cuffs.
A trans-seasonal classic, the Newcomb is an expertly-designed cable polo that adds verve and panache to every outfit, whether layered over casual combos or under tailoring. It is made from a premium linen-wool blend, which combines the rough-hewn texture of linen with the softness, comfort and breathability of Merino wool. The flax in the linen is sourced from European Flax-certified growers, while the Merino wool is RWS-certified (Responsible Wool Standard). This is a garment of integrity, one to consider as an heirloom piece.

Fibre Source
Known for its unparalleled softness and comfort, Merino wool is a high-performance fibre perfect for all seasons.
It is breathable and moisture-wicking, transporting perspiration and moisture away from the body and towards the surface of the fabric. The natural crimp and scales on the wool fibres create tiny pockets of air that allow for moisture to be absorbed and released quickly. Merino wool is also wrinkle-resistant, making it a terrifically low-maintenance option (particularly when it comes to travelling).
Linen, on the other hand, isn't quite so winkle-resistant. A vegetal product of the flax plant, linen fabric is characterised by it's 'slubby' texture.
But linen is brilliantly breathable. It allows air to circulate and heat to dissipate, keeping you cool and comfortable in warm weather. And it is extremely strong and durable, capable of withstanding regular wear and tear.
When woven together, wool and linen provide the yin to each other's yang: the soft texture and fantastic drape of wool is combined with the rough durability of linen.
