Itoku Suit

Regular Fit
Part of M.J. Bale's artisanal 'Made in Japan' collection, the Itoku Suit is crafted in our atelier located in the Iwate Prefecture of Japan from a luxe wool-silk blend. The cloth is woven in Italy into a Super 120s tropical chine with two-tone micro pupstooth design. The single-breasted jacket features a full canvas construction, natural shoulders, wide notch lapels and is fully lined with Bemberg Cupro twill. The matching side-adjuster trousers feature a constructed internal waistband with piping and contrast detail and has an unhemmed finish. Both jacket and trousers are cut to our Regular Fit. One of our premium 'garments of integrity', we consider the Itoku Suit to be a genuine heirloom piece.

    FEATURES

The Itoku Suit is for the sartorial connoisseur, the aficionado who can appreciate the multitude of 'unseen details' that contribute to sublime, hand-finished tailoring. Starting in Italy, the luxurious wool-silk worsted cloth is woven by the centuries-old Vitale Barberis Canonico mill. The jacket and trousers are then crafted by our Japanese artisans, who spend over 50 hours sewing and hand-stitching the garment. The jackets are constructed over 200 separate stages of production, which include a full-canvas construction and hand-sewn armholes, collars and cross-stitched buttons. The meticulous craftsmanship creates a suit that fits like a glove and will mould to the form of your body over time. Cared for properly, this is one to pass on to future generations.

M.J. Bale's tailoring atelier is located in the northern Iwate prefecture of Japan. Here in the foothills of Mount Murone about 70 tailors sew, stitch and press M.J. Bale Collection and Custom suits. M.J. Bale has been working with this workshop in Iwate for more than a decade now. “I wanted to find the best makers in the world,” explains M.J. Bale Founder & CEO Matt Jensen. “Culturally the Japanese really explore that fine line between art and science. It’s that great combination of creativity, hard work, attention to detail and quality that is an enormous differentiator of Japanese craft."

    Performance

Each Collection Suit is the result of over 50 hours of craftsmanship. The jackets alone go through over 200 separate stages of production, including a full-canvas construction and hand-sewn armholes, collars and cross-stitched buttons. The fabric is handcut by head cutter, Inari-San, who has been honing his craft for (almost) the last 50 years.
