Designed and woven in Italy exclusively for M.J. Bale, the Mirante Bowtie is made from 51% cotton 49% silk in a mogador with micro pin dot. It is self-tied, for the sartorial aficionado who prefers a traditional "sprezzatura" approach to dressing.
The Mirante Bowtie is created in a cotton-silk mogador, which is a technique that produces fabric with a distinctive ribbed texture. It involves weaving two yarns together in a crosshatch pattern to create a diagonal ribbed effect with a matte finish and subtle sheen. The result is a slightly heavier weight and unique texture that adds depth to your tailored look.

Provenance
The weaving partner of our silk made in Italy accessories, are a family-run firm situated near the town of Como in Italy.
Our weavers have maintained in their archive room over 15,000 volumes of historical patterns and weaves that have been collected from European libraries and private collections for the past half century.
The family-run firm strives to have a low ecological impact, eliminating waste toxins from treated silk and reducing its carbon footprint. “[We do this] not just for style,” the company says, “but – and especially – because in this case, style is synonymous with ethics. We are concerned about the future and protecting our planet. Consequently, we try and do what’s best for the Earth, safe in the knowledge that it belongs as much to us as it does to future generations and we intend to pass it on to them in the same state as it was to us."
