Fibre History

This garment has been woven from a blend of premium wool and a small percentage of elastane, an elastic-like fibre. Predominantly wool, the cloth offers the natural benefits of this noble fibre: breathability, lightweight comfort, temperature regulation, and a refined finish. The inclusion of elastane introduces subtle stretch, enhancing flexibility, movement, and ease of wear without compromising the garment’s structure or elegance. The result is a fabric that delivers the polished look and luxurious feel of pure wool, with the added performance edge of elastane. It moves with the wearer, maintaining shape throughout the day while resisting creasing. This makes the garment ideal for modern lifestyles—equally suited to long days at the office, travel, or occasions where comfort and sophistication must coexist.

Half-Canvas, Fully Lined, Soft Shoulders

This jacket is created with a half-canvas, which is a 'floating’ layer of natural fibres stitched together between the inner and outer fabric of the jacket body. The half-canvas provides shape and structure, maintaining the jacket’s form through decades, when cared for properly.

This jacket is fully lined, meaning it has a protective layer of fabric running from the top to the bottom of the garment. The lining covers the jacket’s interior stitching, while adding structure to the suit.

Much like traditional Neapolitan tailoring, which strips out much of the suit jacket’s heavy shoulder padding, this jacket features 'soft shoulders'. This benefits men with more athletic shoulders and those in warmer climates (i.e., Australia), making the jacket lighter and a more sympathetic wear in hot/humid conditions.
