We offer refunds, exchanges, or credit notes on all full priced styles. If you wish to return sale items, we offer a credit note or exchange. See below for further information.
All credit notes issued by our online returns team can be redeemed online and in-store.
Credit notes issued in-store with a PIN can be redeemed both in-store and online.
Credit notes issued without a PIN can only be redeemed in-store and are not valid for online use.

Return Eligibility & Options

1. Introduction
1.1 This Returns Policy (Returns Policy) applies to all purchases from us. This Returns Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms and Conditions (Terms) and any capitalised terms not defined in this Returns Policy are defined in the Terms. You agree to comply with all Terms when accessing or using our Services, including this Returns Policy.
2. Change of Mind Returns
2.1 At M.J. Bale, your satisfaction is our priority.
2.2 We offer refunds, exchanges, and credit notes on all full-priced Goods within 30 days. If you wish to return Goods that have been bought on sale, we offer a credit note or exchange (at our discretion).
2.3 All returns are subject to the following conditions being met:
a. you comply and have complied with with all of our Terms;
b. For online returns the request is made on the returns portal at https://mjbale.loopreturns.com/ and is successfully completed by filling out your order number and email and following the steps on the portal.
c. the request made within 30 days of purchase;
d. that you provide your Order number and satisfactory proof of purchase (such as the confirmation email or original tax invoice);
e. that you agree to comply with all steps to process the return as advised by us, including bearing the cost of shipping the Goods to us, or returning the Good at at any of our retail stores;
f. the Goods are in its original or saleable condition (that is, the Good is unwashed, unworn and unused, with all original packaging or tags attached, and where the Goods seal is not broken or tampered or altered);
g. the Goods do not fall under the exclusions detailed in clause 3 below; and
h. the Good is not a sock, underwear, swimwear, face mask, for health and hygiene purposes.
2.4Goods purchased on www.mjbale.com (Website) may be returned or exchanged at any of our retail stores (exclusion Myers and David Jones concessions) or via post.
2.5 To return Goods purchased online via post, please follow the steps below:
a. pack the Good(s) you wish to return in its original condition (as detailed under clause 2.3(f));
b. Go to the returns portal at https://mjbale.loopreturns.com/ and enter your order number and email to Get Started. Follow the steps to submit your request for online return. Further information on the portal can be found at https://www.mjbale.com/pages/returns ;
c. pack and seal the Goods securely in appropriate packaging to prevent damage during transit; and
d. For Change of Mind Returns M.J. Bale offer a flat rate return cost of $12.50 from any location in Australia you are able to lodge an Australa Post Parcel. This cost will be deducted from any credit provided in a successful return.
e. send your package including the packing slip from the portal, using the label provided from the portal, to the following address: M.J. Bale Online Returns Unit 24 115-151 Dunning Avenue Rosebery, NSW, 2018
3. Exclusions
3.1 M.J. Bale does not offer refund for change of mind returns on the following Goods, unless deemed faulty:
a. Made-To-Measure, altered, or personalised Goods;
b. Goods purchased from our Laneway sale events;
c. Goods purchased using M.J. Bale gifts cards, online gift vouchers or credit notes; or
d. Antibacterial Masks, socks, underwear, swimwear.
4. Faulty Goods
4.1 Our quality control team inspects all of our garments prior to despatch to ensure our garments meet our quality standards. However, in the rare occasion that you receive a faulty or damaged Good(s) please follow the below steps.
4.2 If you believe your Good(s) purchased instore are faulty, simply take them with your proof of purchase into your local or nearest store for assessment.
4.3 M.J Bale will assess the Goods to determine if it is deemed faulty. Please note that the process cannot always be completed on the spot as multiple assessments might be required to reach an outcome. We will ensure to follow up with you on the results as soon as possible.
4.4 If you believe your Goods purchased online via our Website is faulty, you may either take them with your proof of purchase into your local or nearest store or send it via post for assessment. You must post it in accordance with the requirements detailed in clause 2.5 above.
4.5 Upon assessment by us, we can assist you with a replacement, repair, refund or store credit, provided that:
a. the Good is considered damaged, broken or faulty or in breach of Australian Consumer Law; or
b. the Good varies significantly to the description and/or images on the Sites; or
c. the Good delivered is not the Good that was ordered; or
d. the Good is otherwise in breach of Australian Consumer Law.
4.6 If you were informed that the Goods were faulty at the time of the purchase, you will not be eligible to a return for the disclosed fault.
4.7 We reserve the right not to accept a return where the fault occurs due to a customers misuse, neglect or reasonable wear and tear. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any defect or damage to the Goods which may be caused or partly caused by or arise as a result of:
a. your failure to properly maintain or store the Goods;
b. your use of the Goods for any purpose other than that for which they were designed;
c. your failure to follow any instructions or guidelines provided by us, including any care instructions; or
d. fair wear and tear, any accident, or act of God.
5. Returns Process
5.1 Except in the case of returns of Faulty Goods, original shipping charges are non-refundable and shipping charges for change of mind returns are your responsibility. Returns of Faulty Goods will not incur our flat Rate returns fee of $12.50 and any original shipping charges will be fully refunded.
5.2 Returns via post are only available to purchases made online. A request to return via post must be completed on the returns portal prior to any returns via post.
5.3 Returns via post is not available for puchases made in store. For futher information please contact Customer Service at service@mjbale.com .
6. Myer & David Jones Returns
6.1 We are unable to process any returns purchased at Myer or David Jones.
6.2 Any Goods purchased through our concession stores and their respective websites (Myer and David Jones) are subject to their relevant returns policies and procedures. You are encouraged to review these policies carefully prior to making a purchase.
7. Afterpay & Zip Returns
7.1 Any purchases completed through Afterpay or Zip Pay must be returned to the same store or location where the original purchase was completed.
8. Replacements and Exchanges
8.1 Please note that we may not be able to offer a replacement or exchange on some Goods if there is no longer stock available.
8.2 Exchanges are subject to availability. Your options for exchange for a different size, style or colour will be provided at the time you lodge your returns via the portal.
9. Refund Tender
9.1 Refunds
a. If you are entitled to a refund, your refund will be returned in the same manner as the original payment method. For purchases made by credit or debit card, the cardholder and the same credit or debit card are required to process the refund as was originally used for the purchase.
b. Please note that processing of refunds can take up to seven (7) business days. The refunded amount may take longer to appear in your account/card, depending on the processing times of your bank or payment provider.
9.2 Credit Notes
a. If you are to receive a credit note, this will be provided once your return has been processed. For in store returns this will be provided in store. For postal returns, please note that processing of refunds can take up to seven (7) business days. The credit note will be provided via your purchase email address.
b. Credit notes are valid for one (1) year before expiry.
c. To use your credit note you will have the option in the checkout on the payment step.
d. All store credit notes issued by our online returns team can be redeemed online and in store.
e. Store credit notes issued in-store with a PIN can be redeemed both in-store and online.
f. Store credit notes issued without a PIN can only be redeemed in-store and are not valid for online use.
10. Consumer Guarantees
10.1 This Policy is not intended to replace or exclude any rights available to you under the Australian Consumer Law.
10.2 If you believe an Good purchased from us is faulty, you may have rights under Australian Consumer Law. Where there is a major failure with the Good you may choose a refund, exchange or repair and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Good repaired or replaced if the Good fails to be of acceptable quality and this failure does not amount to a major failure. Where an Good is damaged through misuse, we cannot provide a refund, exchange or repair.
10.3 Certain legislation including the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) in the Consumer and Competition Act 2010 (Cth), and similar consumer protection laws and regulations may confer you with rights, warranties, guarantees and remedies relating to the provision of goods or services to you by us which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. Our liability is governed solely by the ACL, this policy and any terms and conditions specified on our Website Amendment.
10.4 This Policy may be amended from time to time by us, without prior notice. Any purchase from us following any such amendments will be deemed to be confirmation that you accept those amendments. We recommend that you check our current Terms and Conditions, before making any purchase. Our agents, employees and third parties do not have authority to change this Policy or our Terms and Conditions.

Exchanges & Credit Notes
Instant Exchanges
Would you like your exchange faster? By selecting an Instant Exchange, we place your exchange order as soon as your return is submitted.
If you select an Instant Exchange, we'll place a temporary hold on your card for the full value of your return for authentication purposes. This hold will fall off your account on its own in seven days. You'll have 14 days to ship your return to us.
If the return has been shipped within that time frame, you're good to go! If you haven't shipped your return by then or have chosen to keep the return, we'll charge your card the full return amount.
Key things to know:
- No actual charge occurs during authorization.
- If you opt for an instant exchange, your new item ships immediately.
Credit Notes
If you are to receive a credit note, this will be provided once your return has been processed. For in store returns this will be provided in store. For postal returns, please note that processing of refunds can take up to seven (7) business days. The credit note will be provided via your purchase email address.
