Are M.J. Bale wedding consultations and fittings free of charge?

Yes, both wedding consultations and fittings are completely free of charge. We’re happy to assist you in choosing the perfect attire for your wedding party and ensuring everything fits just right.

What's the difference between a M.J. Bale wedding party consultation and a fitting?

A wedding party consultation is an initial meeting where we discuss your wedding style, preferences, and the overall look you're aiming for. During this session, we’ll guide you through fabric choices, suit styles, colors, and offer advice on what works best for your wedding theme.

A wedding party fitting is a follow-up appointment where you try on the selected garments to ensure the right fit. We’ll make any necessary adjustments to the clothing and confirm that everything is perfect before the big day.

In which M.J. Bale stores, can I make a wedding party booking?

We offer wedding party bookings at all of our stores. However, please keep in mind that some locations may have limited space and may not be suitable for larger wedding parties.

You can book a wedding party fitting/consultation through our online booking portal.


How far in advance should I make a M.J. Bale wedding party booking?

You can book a consultation as early as you'd like to help you get a clear idea of your preferences.

However, we recommend not scheduling your fitting too far in advance, as changes in weight or fit may occur between the booking and your wedding day.

Keep in mind the suit tailoring lead times for all garments.

What is the typical M.J. Bale lead time on suit tailoring?

For an off-the-rack suit, the typical lead time for alterations is 1-2 weeks. A made-to-measure suit usually takes 4-12 weeks to complete.

Please ensure you factor in these times when you book your wedding party consultation.

Does M.J. Bale provide suit hire or rental services?

Unfortunately, we don't offer a suit hire service at this time. We specialise in high-quality garments for purchase. For our full range, please explore the M.J. Bale Collection.

Do M.J. Bale offer a wedding party discount or bulk purchase deal?

Yes, we do! We offer 25% off on three or more selected full-price suit sets which must be purchased in one transaction.
The offer excludes M.J. Bale Collection range including suits, shirts and ties, Kingston range, Loro Piana styles, all velvet styles, pre-order styles, Made to Order (MTO), alterations, and gift cards.
Discounts apply at point of sale. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Offer available at M.J. Bale premium stores, department stores, and outlets only.

Can I pick up my order in-store?

Yes, we offer in-store pickup at select locations. Simply choose the "Click & Collect" option at checkout and select your preferred store.

Do you ship outside of Australia?

We ship to New Zealand from our AU site. However, we don't offer international shipping from the AU site. For international orders, please visit our global site!

Which stores offer Click & Collect?

We are currently offering Click & Collect services in all of our standalone store locations*.

*This does not include our Myer or David Jones Concession stores.

How long until my Click & Collect order is ready for pickup?

We aim to pick and pack your Click & Collect order as quickly as possible, but please allow 1-3 business days for it to be ready for collection.

Once your order is packed, you will receive a notification confirming it’s ready for pickup. Please wait for this notification before heading to the store.

Can I change my Click & Collect order?

Due to system limitations, once an order is sent via Click & Collect adjustments cannot be made to alter the delivery address. You will have to arrange for pick up separately.

Can I cancel my Click & Collect order?

You are instore and have collected your order;

Once you have collected your item, the store can process a refund/exchange as per normal procedures. You must show ID and the card being used for the refund must be in your name/name of the order.

You haven’t gone into store yet and want to cancel via phone;

Please contact the collection store (details on the email sent to you) and provide them with your Name and Order Number so they can make a note. They will then notify the Online team about the refund request so the refund will be processed. The store CANNOT refund you as they require a physical card.

How do I return my item in-store?

We will happily accept returns in-store for online purchases, so long as they fall under the return conditions.

Please make sure you bring your item and proof of purchase into a store near you and they will be able to assist with returning your item!

Please note that if you want to exchange your item, not all stores will have the exchange product so best to call ahead or reach out via our online chat or service@mjbale.com.

How do I process an exchange?

We have 2 options available if you wish to exchange your full-priced or sale item:

1. Return your item via in-store
Take your item along with your proof of purchase to a store near you to exchange it for a different size or product. Please note that not all stores will have your required size or product, so it is best to reach out via our online chat, email - service@mjbale.com, or call the store before heading in.

2. Return your item via post
If you cannot get into a store to exchange your item, we suggest repurchasing the correct item you are wanting to exchange to save on missing out. Once you have processed the new order, return the incorrect item via post to the below address:

Please include on the Return Form your new order number, so we know to process a refund for the incorrect size/item.
*If the product you are wanting to exchange for is not available online - please reach out to service@mjbale.com and we will be able to assist!*

When will I receive my refund?

Please allow 2-4 business days once you return has been delivered for it to be processed.

Once we have processed your refund, we will email you to notify you. From that point it should take around 2-3 business days before your money returns back to your card/account that you paid with.

For Afterpay refunds, Afterpay may just reduce the amount of the payment schedule that is outstanding, or if you have already paid for the garments in full, they will refund the amount within 48 hours.

I have received a faulty item. What do I do?

Goods are classified as faulty if they are received damaged in any way, or where a manufacturing fault occurs within a reasonable time period from the date of purchase. Items that are damaged as a result of normal wear and tear are not considered faulty.

• Purchases made online

For purchases made online, simply email us at service@mjbale.com with the relevant information below, and we will do our best to respond to you and rectify your issue as soon as we can:
• A proof of purchase (receipt, bank statement, M.J. Bale account details, or if nothing else a date and location of purchase)
• A brief description of the damage that has occurred on your garment (Photos of the damage are helpful also)
• A brief outline of the uses, frequency of use and care practices relating to the garment.
• All relevant contact information.

• Purchases made In-Store

Purchases made in store that are believed to be faulty can be returned to the location of purchase or your nearest store with your original receipt. The M.J. Bale team will review the garment & damage to assess if the garment is deemed faulty. Please note that this process cannot always be completed on the spot as multiple assessments may be required to reach an outcome. We thank you for your patience and will contact you back as soon as we can.

Can I return an order made through Afterpay?

AfterPay orders can be returned, however you will need to return it through the original channel that you purchased it; so Online purchases made with AfterPay must be returned to our Online returns location, and in-store purchases made with AfterPay must be returned in-store.

Once we receive your parcel we will process a refund as normal, and after 2-4 business days Afterpay will issue your refund directly. For Partial returns through Afterpay the same as above applies; the M.J. Bale Online team will process a partial refund with Afterpay and Afterpay will credit this amount to any balance owing or refund the amount if full payment has been made.

What are the Refund/Exchange Exemptions? 

Sale items are only valid for exchange unless faulty.

Furthermore, the below items are not valid for refund OR exchange unless faulty;

- Worn, washed, dry cleaned garments or garments that are otherwise not able to be resold

- Garments that have been altered or personalised

Online Orders

I’m missing items from my delivery. What should I do?

If an item is missing, it may be shipped separately. Check your confirmation email to see if the item is part of a different shipment. If you think it should have arrived with your other items, contact us at service@mjbale.com for assistance.

Can I change my delivery address after placing an order?

If your order hasn’t been shipped yet, we may be able to
update your delivery address. Contact our customer service team as soon as
possible to request changes.

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email, which you can use to monitor the progress of your delivery.

Why is my order split into multiple shipments?

If your order contains multiple items, some may be sourced from different locations, resulting in separate shipments. You’ll receive tracking details for each shipment at no extra shipping cost.

I cannot locate my order in my M.J. Bale account?

When you place an order online there is typically a 24-48 hour period before the order will appear in your M.J. Bale account.

You are also likely to receive a follow up email from us once your order has been dispatched which will contain a tracking number so that you can follow the delivery of your order.

If you haven't received any follow up email about your order from us after 3 business days, feel free to reach out to us on service@mjbale.com and we can check on the status of your order.

Am I able to cancel my order?

Our warehouse strives to process orders as quickly as possible to minimise delivery times. Because of this, we cannot guarantee cancellations, redirections, or order amendments once an order has been placed.

What happens if my package is delayed or lost?

While we strive for timely delivery, delays can sometimes occur due to unforeseen circumstances. If your package is significantly delayed or lost, please contact us at service@mjbale.com, and we’ll help resolve the issue.

Account & Payment

How do I redeem my M.J. Bale Rewards?

To redeem reward dollars online, simply:

1. Log in to your account via https://www.mjbale.com/account

2. Select your desired product/s and add them to your bag, then click view bag, then proceed to Checkout.

3. Nominate your desired amount in the Apply reward value ($) field and click apply (*you can choose to apply all or part of your rewards balance).

4. Proceed to Payment method where the rewards will be applied.

I cannot log into my M.J. Bale account

As we have switched over to our new website you will need to transfer your account from the old website onto the new one. To transfer it, simply click CREATE ACCOUNT from the drop down as below, then create a new account with the same email that you've been using, and your old account will be transferred over to the new website.

Once you've filled in your email
address, first name, last name and password, click Sign Me Up and you will be redirected to a Authentication page, once that is submitted you will be sent an email with a link for you to sign in.

Then once your signed in, simply shop as normal and you will be able to sign in with that email & Password going forward. Note that all account details and history should carry over to the new website so long as you use your password that you had been using previously there won't be any issues there.

Is my Account & Information Secure?

M.J. Bale stores and holds Information electronically and/or in hard copy. We will take reasonable steps to store and hold Information in a secure and restricted manner and to protect Information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Access to your Information is limited to those individuals who require such access in order to perform their duties and responsibilities. Any Information held by a third party storage provider is done so under a contractual obligation of confidentiality and non-disclosure.

While the Website has secure password and transaction protections in place, you should be vigilant and note that there are inherent risks associated with transmitting Information via the internet. This means we cannot guarantee that data transmission will be 100% secure or safe from attack from unauthorised intruders and no data protection or security measure is completely secure, particularly in relation to online transmissions. You must take care to ensure you protect your Information (for example, by protecting your usernames and passwords) and you must notify us as soon as possible after you become aware of any security breaches.

Can I unsubscribe from promotional emails?

To unsubscribe to our emails, simply email us at service@mjbale.com with the request and we can unsubscribe you straight away.

I received a Receipt for a Purchase that I didn't make.

There is a very slight chance that a clerical error made by us has caused for your email address or phone number, and in-turn your M.J. Bale account to be linked to a transaction that you did not make. If this is the case, do not stress as we don't record any card or bank account details within your M.J. Bale account so there is no chance that this could be linked to theft. Please feel free to email us on service@mjbale.com if you would like us to check any orders made under your account.

Can I use my in-store credit to purchase online?

Unfortunately credit notes that have been issued in-store can only be redeemed in-store and cannot be used online. *Any credit note issued from April 1, 2025, can be redeemed online with a PIN.

Credit notes cannot be used to purchase gift vouchers.

How can I redeem my online credit?

Your online credit can be redeemed in the same way as an online Gift Voucher.

1. Add items to your cart & head to the Checkout.
2. Simply enter both your Voucher Number & PIN in the Gift Card section.
3. Hit apply and the Voucher amount will be taken from the total cost of the transaction, then you continue through the Checkout as normal.

Some important things to note;
- Online credit can also be used in-store
- Unfortunately you will only be able to use one gift card per online transaction
- Online credit is not redeemable for cash or transferable to another form of credit
- Online credit is valid for 1 year
- Any unused credit credit will remain on the card with the same Number & PIN

I lost my gift voucher. What do I do?

Don't worry! We may be able to track this down for you.
Please email service@mjbale.com with all/any transaction details that you can provide. If you're able to provide details about where and when you purchased it, as well as the Gift Voucher amount we might be able to find this for you.

How do I purchase a gift card?

If you were interested in purchasing a Gift Voucher online feel free to head here!

Alternatively, you can head into one of our stores to purchase a physical Gift Voucher. 

Gift Voucher –Terms & Conditions

The Terms & Conditions for our E-Gift vouchers are below;

• This is only sent as an E-Voucher, not a physical voucher.
• This is valid for 3 years after purchase.
• This will take approximately 1-2 hours before it gets sent out to you.
• Gift Vouchers are non-refundable
• They can be used in-store or online, and across multiple transactions
• They can be bought and used in Australia only
• You are not able to use reward amounts to purchase Gift vouchers.

Where can I use Afterpay?

Afterpay payments can be made in-store at our standalone M.J. Bale stores or online.

How does Afterpay work?

Once you process your payment through Afterpay on the M.J. Bale website, you have a direct agreement and payment plan with Afterpay, NOT M.J. Bale. If you are a NEW Afterpay customer, they will deduct the first 25% payment immediately, and subsequent payments each fortnight over the next 6 weeks.

If you are an existing Afterpay customer, no money will be taken at purchase. The first 25% payment will be deducted 2 weeks after the order date and subsequent payments each fortnight over the remaining 6 weeks.

Afterpay will provide their own emails and notifications alerting you when payment is due to be taken. ALL contact regarding payment should be made directly to Afterpay.

What are your payment methods?

All major credits cards are accepted in-store and online.

The online store also accepts payments through Paypal and both our online store and retails stores accept Afterpay.
